Freemasons Hall Okehampton Devon

Freemasonry in Okehampton.

The Masonic Lodge in Okehampton was founded in 1878 following successful petition to the United Grand Lodge of England by members of other Lodges in the area. The number of the Lodge, 1753, tells us that our Lodge was the 1753rd founded since records began in 1717. Considering this alongside the date 1878 and you can realise the significance of Freemasonry in Okehampton. Locally this history is further emphasised when you consider that members have included prominent members of Okehampton society who have served as ambassadors for and benefactors to the Town..

A little About Us

Freemasonry is still very active in Okehampton and the community, and is as much an important part of the 21st century as it was the 17th. The various lodges and side degrees that currently meet in the hall have growing memberships.
